Biobased building and construction materials using lignin

Bio

Dr. Richard Gosselink started his career in 1990 in Wageningen, the netherlands, where he obtained his PhD researching the valorisation of lignin. Currently, he is senior scientist and expertise leader biopolymer functionalisation & characterisation at Wageningen Food & Biobased Research contract research organisation. He coordinates lignocellulosic biorefinery and lignin chemistry & application research. In these R&D projects sustainable and cost effective technologies are developed together with industrial stakeholders within the biobased and circular economy. From 2018 - 2023 he served as chair for the CA17128 LignoCOST Action, a Pan-European network on sustainable lignin valorisation (www.lignocost.eu). Dr. Richard Gosselink is (co)author of more than 70 papers in this field and holds several patents on lignin fractionation, depolymerisation and application.
